Fryette Pittbull Ultra-Lead II 120W Tube Guitar Amp Head – Black

Description

The Pittbull Ultra-Lead has long stood as a benchmark for high-gain amplification, known for its precision, power and uncompromising response. The Fryette Pittbull Ultra-Lead II carries that legacy forward?not as a recreation, but as an evolution. Retaining a fully analog tube signal path, it introduces a modern control architecture that brings unprecedented flexibility to a flagship platform. A three-channel layout covers everything from articulate cleans to aggressive high-gain tones, while Fryette?s patent-pending power tube blending allows you to shape the amp?s core response by combining the characteristics of different output tubes. Digital control and recall streamline operation without touching the analog signal, and integrated IR loading with USB-C connectivity makes recording and direct integration seamless. The result is a 120W tube amplifier that delivers the feel of a traditional head with the precision and adaptability of a modern rig.

Three-Channel Tube Architecture for Versatility and Control

The Ultra-Lead II is built around a flexible three-channel layout that covers a wide tonal spectrum without sacrificing focus. The Clean channel offers clear, articulate headroom with responsive EQ shaping, while the Rhythm and Lead channels expand into more aggressive territory with added presence and depth controls for fine-tuning low-end weight and high-frequency detail. Each channel maintains its own gain and volume structure, allowing for seamless transitions between pristine cleans, tight rhythm work and saturated lead tones, all while preserving the immediacy and punch of a true tube design.

Power Tube Blending for Shaping the Amplifier?s Core Voice

At the heart of the Ultra-Lead II is Fryette?s patent-pending power tube blending technology, allowing players to combine the characteristics of different output tube types within a single power section. By blending the midrange grind and compression of EL34s with the extended headroom and low-end authority of 6550s, the amp?s core response can be shaped in a way that goes beyond traditional channel or EQ adjustments. This approach lets players define not just their tone, but the feel and behavior of the amplifier itself.

Analog Signal Path With Digital Control and Recall

While the tone remains entirely analog, the Ultra-Lead II replaces traditional switching layouts with a streamlined digital control system. Parameters can be adjusted and recalled via the onboard display or external software interface, eliminating the need for complex front panel switching while preserving signal integrity. The integrated graphic EQ is fully recallable and controlled digitally, allowing for precise tonal shaping without converting the audio signal. This hybrid approach delivers the responsiveness of a tube amp with the consistency and convenience of modern digital control.

Integrated IR Loading and Modern Connectivity for Recording and Performance

Designed for modern workflows, the Ultra-Lead II includes a zero-latency IR loader for capturing authentic cabinet tones directly from the amp. USB-C connectivity allows seamless integration with recording setups, enabling direct tracking without sacrificing depth or realism. Combined with analog cabinet simulation for clean tones, these features make the Ultra-Lead II equally at home on stage, in the studio or at the center of a hybrid rig.

Compact Tube Amp With Full-Scale Power and Precision

Despite its extensive capabilities, the Fryette Pittbull Ultra-Lead II delivers a full 120 watts of tube power in a compact, lightweight 2U format. Weighing approximately 20 pounds, it?s built for touring players who demand portability without compromise. By combining high-voltage tube performance with modern control and integration, the Ultra-Lead II stands as a forward-looking expression of what a flagship amplifier can be?powerful, precise and built for the way players work today.
