Description

The Martin BC-16E acoustic-electric bass guitar brings powerful low end and versatile tone to the stage and studio. Handcrafted with premium tonewoods, this full-scale bass features a resonant solid Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides for a balanced acoustic sound with plenty of projection. The cutaway Grand Auditorium body and low oval neck provide comfortable access to the upper frets so you can explore the bass’ full range.

Premium Tonewoods for Superior Resonance

The BC-16E’s solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides are carefully selected by Martin’s expert craftsmen for their tonal qualities. The spruce top provides articulate highs and mids, while the rosewood body adds warmth and depth. Together, these tonewoods generate a balanced and resonant voice that shines through whether playing fingerstyle or using a pick. The bass’s Grand Auditorium body and cutaway provide comfortable playability and access to higher frets so you can explore the instrument’s full tonal range.

Comfortable Playability and Access

The BC-16E’s low oval neck profile provides a comfortable feel for bass playing. Its full scale 34″ scale length reduces string tension for easier fingering. The cutaway body gives you full access to the upper frets, ideal for intricate riffs and melodic playing. These ergonomic features encourage you to play for hours without fatigue.

Plug in for Total Control Over Your Sound

On stage or in the studio, the BC-16E gives you control over your amplified tone. The built-in Martin E1 electronics system features controls for volume, bass, midrange and treble so you can shape your sound with precision. A tuner ensures accurate tuning without needing to plug in. The onboard electronics capture the natural acoustic properties of the guitar for a true representation of its unplugged voice.

Road-Ready and Protected

The BC-16E comes with a soft shell case to keep it safe when not in use. The bass’s satin finish protects the wood while allowing it to breathe and mature over time. Designed and built by Martin’s expert luthiers, the BC-16E is a professional-grade instrument made to withstand the demands of regular playing and travel.
