MEINL Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride Cymbal 20 in.

Description

The Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride cymbal combines the warm, complex tones of a crash cymbal with the articulate clarity of a ride. Handcrafted in Turkey using traditional techniques, this 20″ cymbal features a lathed and hand-hammered surface resulting in a dry, earthy tone with subtle overtones. The dual-zone design has separate areas for crashing and riding, allowing drummers to coax a wide range of sounds from a single cymbal.

Extra Dry, Multi-Functional Sound

With an extra dry finish and medium-light weight, this versatile cymbal produces a warm, breathy crash with a short sustain and throaty midrange. In the ride zone, stick definition is crisp while the tone remains muted and complex. The diverse sonic possibilities make this an ideal all-purpose cymbal for any style of music.

Handcrafted Quality

Like all Meinl Byzance cymbals, the Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride is handcrafted in Turkey using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Skilled cymbal smiths individually hammer each cymbal into shape, which gives it a unique musical personality. The handcrafted quality results in rich, nuanced tones that electronic manufacturing cannot replicate.

Versatile and Expressive

With its blend of articulation and warmth, the Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride suits any musical context where subtlety and expressiveness are valued. Jazz, fusion, indie, and experimental drummers will appreciate the diverse tonal colors this cymbal provides. The Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride delivers handcrafted quality and a versatility that inspires expressive playing.
