Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Modern Versatility

Rooted in traditional cymbal-making methods, this crash is hammered into shape using techniques perfected over generations. Yet its tone is tailored to contemporary drumming needs, suiting rock, jazz, pop, Latin and beyond. This fusion of old-world artistry and 21st-century performance makes for an instrument with timeless appeal.

Explosive Power With Nuanced Control

The MEINL Byzance Medium Crash erupts with an energetic attack, then opens into a singing, shimmering sustain. Its medium-thin weight provides enough power and volume to cut through a mix, while remaining responsive to a drummer’s dynamics. A light touch will yield a delicate, muted crash; a forceful hit produces a roaring wash of sound. This balance of power and control gives drummers an exceptionally versatile instrument.

Handcrafted Tone and Timeless Looks

The MEINL Byzance Medium Crash is carefully handcrafted to produce a musical, resonant tone. It is hammered into a precise shape, then lathed to a smooth finish, allowing the deeper hammer marks to remain visible. This combination of hammering and lathing techniques results in an instrument with visual depth and tonal complexity. The B20 bronze material provides warmth, nuance and projection.
