Blending vintage Guild designs with contemporary features, this compact guitar delivers huge sound while remaining incredibly comfortable to play. Whether you’re a fingerstyle virtuoso or a prolific songwriter, the M-260E Deluxe is an inspiring instrument worthy of Guild’s storied legacy.
Compact Concert Body Ideal for Fingerstyle
The M-260E’s concert body shape has been a favorite of Guild players for over 60 years. First introduced in 1957, the “M” design offers a reduced footprint that’s ideal for fingerstyle players and songwriters. You’ll appreciate the body’s comfortable proportions whether you’re composing at home or performing on stage. The scaled-down size also enhances projection and tonal focus. Despite its compact dimensions, the M-260E delivers a surprisingly powerful voice thanks to its arched back design.
Premium Tonewoods With Exotic Appeal
The star of the M-260E’s tonewood recipe is the solid Sitka spruce top. This tight-grained wood offers excellent dynamic range and articulation, allowing every nuance of your playing to shine through. Complementing the spruce top are striped ebony back and sides, an exotic and visually striking wood with an intricate grain reminiscent of rosewood. Together, this premium tonewood pairing serves up a rich, balanced acoustic voice with plenty of warmth and projection.
Sculpted Neck With Rosewood Fingerboard
Mahogany forms the backbone of the M-260E’s neck, with its naturally rigid yet resonant properties translating into outstanding sustain and note clarity. The comfortable neck profile provides a familiar feel for chord work and single-note runs alike. A rosewood fingerboard adds warmth to every note while providing articulation and definition. The bone nut and saddle further optimize tone transfer for enhanced resonance and sustain.
Arched Back for Unrivaled Projection
While it may seem like a subtle design detail, the M-260E’s arched back is a key ingredient in its potent acoustic voice. Guild pioneered this construction method, using the arched back to create a deeper, more resonant body chamber. The results are hard to miss?notes blossom with tight focus and incredible projection, easily filling a room without strain. The arched design also reduces overall weight while adding structural integrity.
With the Fishman x Guild GT-1 pickup system onboard, the Guild M-260E Deluxe is ready to plug in and bring its rich, nuanced acoustic tones to any stage or recording session. Deluxe appointments like mother-of-pearl inlays and open-gear tuners add vintage flair.
