Grand Auditorium Shape for Balanced Tone and Comfort

The Grand Auditorium body shape on this guitar offers a perfect balance of tonal depth and ergonomic comfort. Slightly larger than a concert-sized guitar, it produces a robust voice with a clear, balanced sound across the tonal spectrum. Its Venetian cutaway allows effortless access to the upper frets, making it ideal for exploring complex chord voicings or intricate solos. Designed for light fingerpicking and medium strumming alike, this guitar reacts dynamically to every nuance of your playing. Whether sitting or standing, its contours provide a natural playing position, ensuring long sessions remain comfortable.

Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top with Layered Sapele Back and Sides

The solid torrefied Sitka spruce top on this model enhances both resonance and responsiveness, delivering a vibrant acoustic tone with plenty of projection. The torrefaction process improves the wood’s stability and gives it a played-in quality, adding warmth and depth to the sound. Layered sapele back and sides offer durability and consistent performance, providing a stable foundation for the top’s dynamic response. Together, these tonewoods create an instrument with impressive tonal balance and clarity, perfect for live performances or studio recording.

Expression System 2 Electronics for Clear Amplified Sound

The Taylor 114ce Sunset Blvd is equipped with the Expression System 2, a professional-grade pickup and preamp system that faithfully reproduces the guitar’s natural sound when amplified. The behind-the-saddle transducer design captures the top’s vibrations more accurately, delivering a warm and detailed tone. Onboard controls for volume, bass and treble provide easy sound shaping, while the phase switch helps manage feedback in live settings. Whether you’re connecting to a PA system or an acoustic amp, this system ensures consistent, high-quality sound.

Elegant Design and Durable Construction

This guitar combines high-end details with reliable craftsmanship. The Sunset Edgeburst finish enhances the natural grain of the torrefied spruce top, while Italian acrylic diamond inlays and gold Taylor tuners add a touch of sophistication. The genuine West African ebony fingerboard and bridge not only look stunning but also provide a smooth, responsive playing surface. Designed with longevity in mind, the 114ce includes a Micarta saddle and NuBone nut for improved tuning stability and durability. It ships with a Taylor structured gig bag for secure transport and protection.
