Taylor 810e Legacy Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar – Natural

Description

Rooted in the designs that helped define Taylor?s early voice, the Legacy 810e traces directly back to the first Dreadnought Bob Taylor developed after he and Kurt Listug took over the American Dream shop. The goal was simple but ambitious: preserve the tonal character and visual identity of those formative instruments while refining the playability for modern players. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, this Legacy 810e acoustic-electric model delivers the deep, piano-like low end and clear shimmer that made the original so compelling. Its return to traditional X-bracing reinforces that open, naturally scooped response, while Taylor?s contemporary slim-profile neck and micro-adjustability bring a level of comfort and precision the early guitars never had. LR Baggs Element VTC electronics complete the package, faithfully translating the Legacy 810e?s natural acoustic voice for stage use.

Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood With Traditional X-Bracing

The 810e Legacy revisits the X-bracing pattern that shaped Taylor?s earliest Dreadnought guitars, delivering the expansive low-end authority and open projection players expect from this body style. A solid Sitka spruce top provides impressive headroom and crisp articulation, responding dynamically to both nuanced fingerpicking and aggressive flatpicking. Solid Indian rosewood back and sides reinforce the voice with deep, piano-like bass and sparkling high-end detail, yielding a wide frequency range with naturally scooped mids. The result is a Dreadnought sound that feels bold, resonant and unmistakably traditional.

Modern Taylor Neck Feel With Micro-Adjustability

While the body design reflects Taylor?s past, the neck showcases decades of ergonomic refinement. The neo-tropical mahogany neck features Taylor?s slim, comfortable profile for a fast and balanced feel that improves on the fuller necks of earlier eras. Built-in micro-adjustability allows precise setup tweaks without invasive work, giving players reliable control over action as conditions change. Additionally, a genuine African ebony fingerboard adds a smooth, glassy playing surface with crisp note definition and long-term durability, complementing the 25.5″ scale length for a confident, responsive feel.

Heritage Appointments Inspired by Early Taylor Models

Every visual detail reinforces the instrument?s historical inspiration. White binding frames the body, while a three-ring green abalone rosette echoes the aesthetic language of early Taylor Dreadnought models. Large diamond mother-of-pearl inlays anchor the fingerboard with unmistakable presence, and the faux tortoiseshell pickguard adds a period-correct touch. An Indian rosewood headstock overlay and Taylor nickel tuners complete a look that feels authentically rooted yet cleanly executed.

LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics for Natural Amplified Tone

For stage and studio work, the 810e Legacy is equipped with the LR Baggs Element VTC system, widely respected for its organic response and minimal coloration. The undersaddle pickup captures the guitar?s natural acoustic character, while discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow subtle shaping when amplified. Whether performing live or recording direct, the system delivers consistent, reliable tone without overshadowing the instrument?s wood-driven voice.

A Dreadnought Rooted in Taylor?s Origins

The Taylor Legacy 810e stands as both tribute and evolution, reconnecting players with the Dreadnought sound that helped shape the brand?s identity. By pairing traditional X-braced power with modern neck refinement and dependable stage electronics, it bridges past and present in a single instrument. For players drawn to classic spruce-and-rosewood authority with contemporary playability, the 810e Legacy delivers a confident expression of Taylor?s roots.
