Taylor 817e Grand Pacific Acoustic-Electric Guitar Shaded Edge Burst

Description

The Taylor 817e Grand Pacific acoustic-electric guitar provides an inspiring playing experience with its resonant tonewoods and innovative design. The torrefied Sitka spruce top and Honduran rosewood back and sides produce a bold, rich tone with shimmering highs and a warm low end. The Grand Pacific body shape eliminates the “puff of air” often found in dreadnoughts, resulting in a focused bass and midrange that suits any playing style. TheV-Class bracing boosts volume and sustain while improving intonation for an unparalleled musical performance.

Premium Tonewoods Deliver Harmonic Depth

The torrefied Sitka spruce top is specially seasoned to produce an aged, resonant character with projecting highs and mids. The Honduran rosewood back and sides provide a warm, balanced bass response, combining with the top to create a lush tonal palette. Together, these tonewoods make the 817e an “explosion of harmonic content,” as Taylor’s master designer Andy Powers says. You’ll be inspired to play for hours by its rich, complex voice.

V-Class Bracing Unlocks the Guitar’s Potential

Taylor’s revolutionaryV-Class bracing opens up the 817e’s voice, boosting volume, sustain and intonation. The bracing produces notes that ring clearly up and down the fingerboard with minimal “sour” tones. Chords bloom and decay smoothly and the guitar is highly responsive. V-Class bracing also makes the 817e easier to tune since the pitch is more consistent. Experience the 817e’s full musical potential through this innovative bracing system.

Play Comfortably with a Premium Neck

The 817e’s neck promotes smooth playing with its tapered profile and ebony fingerboard. The shape feels familiar and fast, ideal for complex fingerstyle or flatpicking techniques. The ebony fingerboard is hard and dense, providing a slick surface under your fingers. Dot inlays guide you down the neck so you can focus on the music. Overall, the neck design allows seamless transitions across the fingerboard.
