Sequential Pro 3 37-Key Multi-Filter Hybrid Synthesizer

Description

Few modern instruments carry as much weight in the mono synth world as Sequential?s Pro lineage. Drawing directly from the spirit of the Pro 1 and Pro 2 models while pushing boldly forward, the Sequential Pro 3 stands as a modern hybrid built for players who want raw analog authority paired with deep digital control. Its dual analog oscillators deliver weight, punch and unmistakable character, while a third wavetable oscillator adds edge and motion that feels unmistakably contemporary. Three vintage-inspired filters?Prophet-6, OB-6 and ladder?give the instrument a wide tonal personality, and its hands-on interface invites exploration without breaking creative flow. The result is a performance synth that feels immediate under your fingers yet endlessly expandable once you start digging in.

Hybrid Oscillator Design With Analog Authority and Digital Edge

At the core of the Pro 3 is a three-oscillator architecture that bridges generations of synthesis. Two voltage-controlled analog oscillators provide the warmth and presence players expect from a Sequential instrument, forming a solid foundation for basses, leads and aggressive textures. The third digital oscillator introduces wavetable synthesis with morphing capabilities, expanding the palette into sharper, evolving territory without sacrificing musicality. This combination allows players to move seamlessly from classic subtractive tones to more complex modern sounds within a single patch.

Three Vintage Filters Shaping Distinct Sonic Personalities

Rather than locking players into a single filter character, the Pro 3 offers three distinct vintage-inspired designs drawn from Sequential?s heritage. A Prophet-6?based low-pass filter brings familiar punch and smoothness, while a classic transistor ladder filter adds weight and resonance with optional compensation to preserve low end. Completing the trio is an OB-6?style state-variable filter that shifts continuously between low-pass, notch and high-pass modes. Together, these filters make the Pro 3 equally comfortable delivering thick monosynth lines or more nuanced, animated textures.

Advanced Sequencing for Performance and Sound Design

The Pro 3?s sequencer is more than a pattern generator?it is a central creative tool. With multiple tracks, phrases and playback modes, it supports both real-time and step-based workflows and integrates deeply with the synth?s modulation system. Notes, rhythms and parameter changes can all be sequenced with precision, making it possible to build evolving performances that feel alive rather than loop-bound. Whether driving external gear or shaping internal modulation, the sequencer rewards hands-on experimentation.

Deep Modulation and Expressive Control

Designed for players who like to shape every detail, the Pro 3 offers an expansive modulation environment anchored by a large modulation matrix. Multiple envelopes and LFOs can be freely routed, running fast enough to venture into audio-rate territory for extreme results. Performance controls, including a responsive keyboard with aftertouch and assignable controllers, make these complex routings playable in real time. Despite its depth, the interface remains intuitive, encouraging exploration rather than menu diving.

A Modern Mono and Paraphonic Instrument With Lasting Appeal

As a monosynth, the Pro 3 delivers the focused power and immediacy that defined its predecessors. Switch to paraphonic operation and it opens up expressive chordal possibilities that add new dimensions to performance and composition. For players seeking an instrument that honors Sequential?s history while embracing modern sound design, the Pro 3 offers a compelling balance of character, flexibility and hands-on control?an instrument built to inspire long after the first note.
