Fender Custom Shop Limited-Edition ’59 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Electric Guitar Super Faded Aged Sage Green Metallic

The Fender Custom Shop limited-edition ’59 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic electric guitar pays tribute to one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made. This meticulously crafted instrument wears its custom aging with pride?every nick, scratch and faded finish mark evoking the hard-earned character of a well-traveled stage companion. But beyond its relic’d vibe, this Strat delivers the authentic sound and feel that made the originals legendary.

Journeyman Relic Finish Captures a Lifetime of Play

The first thing you’ll notice about this ’59 Strat is its road-worn relic’d aesthetic achieved through Fender’s Journeyman Relic treatment. The super faded aged sea foam green nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been purposely weathered with skillful distressing and aging techniques. The quartersawn maple neck sports a gloss nitro finish that’s been carefully broken in, with a flat-laminated 3A rosewood fingerboard exhibiting just the right amount of typical playing wear. Every aspect has been thoughtfully crafted to emulate the look and feel of a hard-gigging ’59 Strat that’s been on countless stages.

Authentic Construction Delivers Vintage Strat Tone

Beneath its relic’d exterior, this ’59 Strat stays true to its golden-era roots with premium construction and custom-spec’d components. The foundation is a 2-piece select alder body?the wood that gave Fender’s original Stratocasters their signature bite and bell-like chime. The quartersawn maple neck sports a comfortable ’59 profile and vintage-style 21-fret fingerboard with vintage clay dot inlays. Three custom hand-wound Fat ’50s single-coil pickups in the classic SSS configuration recreate those legendary Fender tones with bell-like chime and glassy highs.

Customized for Tonal Versatility and Feel

While its underpinnings stay true to the vintage Strat formula, this Custom Shop model incorporates thoughtful modern upgrades for enhanced performance. The 5-way blade pickup selector allows sculpting a wide range of tones, from bright and funky to rich and warm. A custom control assembly with two tone knobs?one for the bridge pickup, another for the neck/middle?lets you dial in the perfect amounts of brightness and warmth. The vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge provides smooth, expressive vibrato effects for surf leads and warbles.

It ships with a deluxe hardshell case to keep your prized relic safe in transit, along with a strap and certificate of authenticity.
