Gibson Custom Murphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Junior Single-Cut Reissue Ultra Light Aged Electric Guitar TV Yellow

Description

The Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cut Reissue Ultra Light Aged electric guitar captures the magic of a true ’50s classic. This exacting recreation transports you back to the stripped-down simplicity that made the original Les Paul Junior a beloved instrument. Yet beneath its vintage vibe lie premium appointments that make it an exceptional guitar for today’s player.

Authentic Vintage Look and Feel

From the moment you lay eyes on this reissue, you’ll be smitten by its road-worn aesthetic. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light aging process meticulously replicates decades of playing wear on the solid mahogany body. Every ding, scratch and unique discoloration has been carefully recreated to make this guitar look and feel like a hard-gigging relic from the 1950s. Even the nitrocellulose lacquer finish is engineered to age and check over time, just like the original.

Classic Tone Woods and Construction

Like its ’50s forebearer, the ’57 Les Paul Junior reissue derives its rich, articulate tone from premium woods and period-correct construction techniques. The solid mahogany body provides a focused midrange and resonant lows that cut through any mix. Traditional hide glue construction further enhances resonance and sustain. The quartersawn mahogany neck feels smooth and stable in your hand, while the vintage-spec frets let you bend strings with ease.

Signature Dog-Ear P-90 Bite

A large part of the Les Paul Junior’s iconic character comes from its Dog-Ear P-90 bridge pickup. Faithfully reproduced by Gibson’s skilled luthiers, this single soapbar pickup captures that unmistakable snarl and vocal-like midrange that has inspired countless rock anthems. Whether you’re playing gritty power chords or fluid lead lines, this Custom P-90 will make your tone sear through the mix with dynamic, singing sustain.

Vintage Wiring for True ’50s Tone

The wiring on this Les Paul Junior reissue has been meticulously spec’d to match the original ’50s design. From the vintage-style capacitors to the historic-spec pots and cloth wiring, every component contributes to recreating that raw, unprocessed electric guitar tone that has inspired generations of players. Crank up the volume and you’ll experience the same glorious bloom and grit that guitarists like Freddie King and Leslie West coaxed from their beloved Juniors.
