PRS Silver Sky Electric Guitar – Faded Black Tee Satin

Description

Designed in collaboration with John Mayer, the PRS Silver Sky electric guitar blends vintage inspiration with modern appointments. The sleek double-cutaway alder body and bolt-on maple neck provide comfort, resonance and familiar feel. It comes equipped with three custom-designed 635JM single-coil pickups that deliver a smooth, rich tone perfect for any style.

Custom Pickups Bring Out Your Best Tone

At the heart of the PRS Silver Sky are its 635JM single-coil pickups, custom-designed by Paul Reed Smith and John Mayer. With their broad dynamics and musical high end, they capture the warmth and familiarity of vintage tone while remaining articulate and noise-free. The 5-way blade switch provides access to versatile pickup combinations for everything from glassy cleans to saturated leads.

Express Yourself With a Vintage-Style Tremolo Bridge

The PRS Silver Sky allows for expressive playing with its steel tremolo bridge. Incorporating PRS’s Gen III knife-edge screws, it provides fluid pitch effects while staying in tune through dynamic performances. The bridge is set in a neutral position so it only goes down in pitch for nuanced warble effects without compromising tuning stability.

Keep Your Sound Consistent With Locking Tuners

No more tuning worries with the PRS Silver Sky’s vintage-style locking tuners. Their closed backs minimize string slippage for rock-solid tuning, even on the largest dive bombs. Consistent string tension also means your tone stays uniform up and down the neck. The tuners perfectly complement the tremolo bridge for performances where you can focus on your playing, not your tuning.

Maple Neck and Fingerboard Offer Fast, Familiar Feel

The Silver Sky’s maple neck has a custom profile designed with input from John Mayer himself. Its smooth satin finish and flatter 7.25″ radius feel fast and comfortable, especially for players accustomed to modern electric guitars. Combined with the 25.5″ scale length, it makes soloing beyond the 12th fret effortless. Bird inlays on the maple fingerboard add an iconic PRS touch.

Recreate Mayer’s Tonality With Custom-Designed Pickups

The PRS Silver Sky comes equipped with John Mayer’s personal 635JM single-coil pickups, custom-engineered in collaboration with Paul Reed Smith to capture Mayer’s ideal tone profile. The neck and middle pickups serve up bell-like clarity with a smooth, rounded midrange, while the bridge pickup provides articulate note separation with enough grit to cut through a mix. From warm, clean rhythm chords to soaring lead lines, the 635JM pickups help you recreate Mayer’s most iconic sounds.
