Resonant Tonewoods Produce Full 12-String Sound

The EF381DX’s solid spruce top, and maple back and sides, were carefully selected by Takamine’s master luthiers to provide balanced warmth, clarity and projection. When paired with 12 strings, the tonewoods generate a lush, shimmering sound with piano-like bass, crisp treble and angelic harmonies. The dreadnought body pumps out robust volume so your playing cuts through the mix.

Onboard Electronics Provide Power and Control

The CT4BII preamp system gives you total control over your amplified tone with volume, bass, middle and treble controls. You can adjust the mix of the dual pickup system that includes an under-saddle piezo pickup and a magnetic soundhole pickup. This combination provides the natural acoustic tone of the piezo pickup along with the fuller, rounder tone of the magnetic pickup for maximum versatility.

Abalone Purfling and Rosette Provide Beauty

You’ll appreciate the striking abalone purfling and rosette surrounding the soundhole that give this guitar an elegant appearance on stage under the spotlight. The abalone inlays on the fingerboard are shaped into delicate diamonds, adding a touch of visual intrigue with every chord and melody you play.
