Ibanez RGA Standard RGA742EX 7-String Electric Guitar – Black Aurora Burst Matte

Description

The Ibanez RGA742EX electric guitar is built for players who want extended range without giving up speed or control. Its sculpted meranti body is designed to sit comfortably against you, with a satin polyurethane finish that keeps the feel smooth and understated. A bolt-on Wizard II-7 maple neck provides a thin, fast profile that?s easy to navigate across all seven strings, paired with a 25.5″ scale length for clear response and consistent tension. The jatoba fingerboard is fitted with 24 jumbo frets, and Quantum 7 humbuckers handle electronics through a simple 1-volume, 1-tone layout and a 5-way selector, making the RGA742EX a focused tool for modern metal and progressive playing.

Wizard II-7 Neck Designed for Extended Range

The Wizard II-7 neck is shaped to stay flat and fast, helping wide stretches and quick position changes feel natural across seven strings. Its three-piece maple construction adds strength and stability, while the slim profile keeps the neck from feeling bulky despite the added range. This design supports technical riffs, fast alternate picking, and complex chord voicings without slowing you down.

Jatoba Fingerboard With Jumbo Frets

The jatoba fingerboard brings a strong midrange presence with a crisp high end that helps notes stay defined under gain. 24 jumbo frets provide a smooth, forgiving feel for bends, vibrato, and fast single-note runs, especially useful when navigating lower tunings. The overall response stays clear and controlled, even during dense, high-gain passages.

Quantum 7 Humbuckers With Fast Tracking

The Quantum 7 humbucker set is voiced for quick low-end response and precise note definition, making it well suited for fast picking and tight rhythm work. The pickups deliver a full-bodied mid-to-high range that helps complex riffs and extended-range chords stay articulate. With a 5-way selector, you can move between heavier and more nuanced tones without complicating the control layout.

F107 Fixed Bridge for Direct Response

The F107 fixed bridge is designed to enhance sustain while maintaining reliable tuning stability. Each string?s height can be adjusted independently, allowing for precise setup and a consistent feel across all seven strings. The fixed bridge design also contributes to a tight, immediate response that many players prefer for heavy rhythm playing.

A Focused RGA Built for Heavy Styles

The RGA Standard lineup is aimed at players who want a modern, performance-driven instrument with a more aggressive body shape and unrestricted playability. Finished in Black Aurora Burst Matte with black hardware, the RGA742EX is well suited for metal, progressive, and extended-range styles where clarity and control matter. It?s a dependable 7-string electric guitar built to handle demanding music and intense playing sessions with confidence.
