PRS Semi-Hollow Construction for Enhanced Resonance

This guitar’s semi-hollow construction delivers a lush tonal character with gorgeous resonance and long-lasting sustain. Crafted from a mahogany back with a carved maple top, the SE Special Semi-Hollow balances rich warmth with sparkling clarity. A figured maple veneer adds a touch of brilliance while contributing to the guitar’s visual elegance. The shallow violin carve offers ergonomic comfort and a refined aesthetic, while the single f-hole enhances the natural resonance. This design results in a lively response, ideal for players seeking a dynamic sound with a broad tonal spectrum that complements everything from articulate picking to shimmering chords and expressive solos.

Thin Wide Maple Neck for Smooth Playability

The SE Special semi-hollow features a sleek 22-fret maple neck carved to PRS’s fast and familiar Wide Thin profile. The 25″ scale length offers a balanced tension that feels equally at home with rhythmic grooves and melodic leads. A rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and smooth response under the fingers, while the 10″ radius ensures comfortable string bends and lightning-fast lead runs. Signature PRS bird inlays in pearloid provide an unmistakable visual identity, and the neck’s multi-ply construction adds strength and stability for consistent performance over time. Whether you’re comping jazz standards or shredding your way through fiery blues licks, this neck stays responsive and comfortable across all registers.

Innovative Three-Pickup Configuration With Narrowfield DD and 58/15 LT “S”

The SE Special’s triple-pickup layout makes it one of the most sonically flexible models in the PRS SE range. The 58/15 LT “S” humbuckers in the neck and bridge offer a warm, vintage-style tone with excellent articulation and balance?ideal for blues, rock and jazz. Sandwiched between them is the innovative PRS Narrowfield DD “S,” a narrow-aperture humbucker designed for enhanced midrange clarity, snappy attack and low-noise performance. It delivers single-coil-like articulation while retaining the full, focused punch of a humbucker. Dual mini-toggle coil-tap switches allow the pickups to be split for added brightness and all-new pickup combinations, opening up an expanded tonal palette when combined with the 5-way blade selector. From glassy clean textures to complex, gain-rich lead tones, this pickup system invites experimentation and rewards creativity.

PRS Tremolo and Durable Hardware for Reliable Performance

Equipped with the patented PRS tremolo bridge, this guitar ensures accurate intonation and smooth vibrato effects. The tremolo’s molded construction enhances player comfort while maintaining tonal fidelity, even during aggressive pitch shifts. Complementing the bridge, PRS-designed tuners deliver reliable tuning stability, allowing players to focus on their performance without worrying about adjustments. Nickel hardware completes the design with a sleek aesthetic while providing long-term durability. The combination of high-quality hardware ensures consistent performance for both studio sessions and live gigs.
