Thermally Aged Adirondack Spruce Top

The SJ-200 Rosewood’s thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top has been specially treated to reproduce the tonal qualities of vintage spruce. The aging process results in a top that is lighter, more responsive and produces a richer, more complex tone. Paired with hot hide glue bracing, the spruce top delivers a warm, balanced sound with shimmering highs, robust midrange and deep bass.

Premium Rosewood Back and Sides

The rosewood back and sides provide a solid tonal foundation for the spruce top. Rosewood is prized for acoustic guitars due to its resonance, warmth and dynamic range. On the SJ-200 Rosewood, the rosewood back and sides enhance the spruce top’s tonal properties, contributing to an instrument with exceptional depth, clarity and sustain.

Slim Mahogany Neck and Bound Ebony Fretboard

The SJ-200 Rosewood’s mahogany neck and bound ebony fretboard provide a fast, low-profile playing surface for intricate solos and complex chords. Ebony is a dense, durable wood that produces clear, bright tones. Combined with a slim neck profile, the ebony fretboard enables a high level of playability not often found on vintage-style acoustic guitars.

Authentic 1930s Styling

From the maple bridge and mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays to the gold Grover tuners and pickguard, every detail of the SJ-200 Rosewood’s design pays homage to Gibson acoustics of the 1930s. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish, hot hide glue construction and period-correct script logo complete the vintage-inspired esthetic. For players and collectors seeking an iconic instrument with timeless style, the SJ-200 Rosewood delivers a truly authentic pre-war experience.
