Martin Custom Shop 18 Style European Spruce-Cherry OMC Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Description

The Martin Custom Shop 18 Style European Spruce-Cherry OMC Acoustic-Electric Guitar stands apart through its careful selection of tonewoods and custom appointments. Certified European spruce forms the top, delivering crisp attack and detailed response for players who value articulation. Solid cherry back and sides introduce a distinctive warmth, while the orchestra model cutaway body offers easy upper fret access. European flame maple binding frames the silhouette, creating bold visual contrast. Built-in L.R. Baggs Anthem electronics provide natural-sounding amplification for studio or stage. This guitar suits musicians who demand expressive dynamics and refined aesthetics for nuanced fingerstyle or precise flatpicking in acoustic performances.

Cherry Back and Sides Add Vintage Sweetness

Cherry back and sides contribute a warm midrange and singing highs, giving the instrument a tonal signature that evolves over time. Cherry’s natural sustain and clarity suit melodic passages, and the wood’s stability helps the guitar maintain its voice for years. European flame maple binding frames the cherry body, emphasizing the clean lines and making the instrument stand out visually. This build balances classic heritage with a modern edge, supporting expressive playing in acoustic environments.

Certified European Spruce Top Shapes Articulate Tone

Certified European spruce on the top delivers bright, clear attack with nuanced overtones. The wood responds well to dynamic changes in touch, capturing subtle details and ensuring every note projects. Scalloped X bracing underneath supports resonance, helping the guitar sustain longer and react quickly. This detailed response helps fingerstyle players highlight intricate patterns and allows flatpickers to cut through a mix with clarity.

L.R. Baggs Anthem Electronics Enable Accurate Amplification

L.R. Baggs Anthem electronics capture the acoustic guitar’s natural sound and deliver it to amplification systems without artificial coloration. Controls stay accessible but unobtrusive, so players can fine-tune their live setup quickly. This pickup system helps musicians retain the instrument’s organic character in amplified situations, reducing feedback and allowing confident stage performance. The onboard electronics make transitioning from studio recording to live gigs straightforward.

Gloss Finish and Dovetail Neck Joint Ensure Durability

A gloss finish on the body protects the spruce and cherry from wear while enhancing resonance. The dovetail neck joint stays stable under tension, keeping alignment true through years of use. Grover nickel tuners resist slipping and support accurate tuning, while bone nut and saddle improve sustain. Ebony fingerboard and bridge resist moisture and add longevity, helping the guitar maintain its feel and sound over time.
